Consultation results

Thanks to everyone who submitted a consultation form, it's really a huge help.  For those interested in the results, we have published them in a friendly pie chart form on this site.  You can find them here.

This data will help us determine the requirements for the first phase of the project.  After the doors open, the initial members will help shape the centre, based on the initial consultation findings, so we expect things to evolve naturally over time.  It's a great starting point, so thanks again to everyone.

    Atrium Studios and the WIP

Well, some of you may have heard of the UCS project entitled 'Atrium Studios' and wondered if we are related.

Atrium Studios is the result of work between IBC and The WIP to create a community space for creatives to work together.  It is now a project run by UCS with an emphasis on nurturing Post Grads but open to all independents in the creative industry who need a place to work that is away from their home or the coffee shops.

The unofficial opening date is mid to late September so if you want to register your interest, take a look at the space, or reserve a place, please contact Joanna Mayhew on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 07851 221830.

I've just returned from the building, which is situated on the UCS campus and decoration is almost complete.  If you are an artist and need somewhere to work, you should definitely take a look.  There are limited spaces and the prices range from £80-£120.

It looks like this project is going to happen finally, with UCS at the helm.  We wish them luck.

  • Arts Council Approved WRITTEN_BY_MALE Administrator

Well, it looks like the Arts Council Funding has been approved and earmarked for this project.

I'd like to thank all of those involved so far, including Rebecca Weaver and Greg Cooper from Ipswich Borough Council.

The money will enable us to launch the WIP with a subsidised membership structure, making it affordable and accessible to artists and creatives of all kinds.

There will be some important announcements made regarding consultation days and opening dates over the next few weeks, so please check back regularly.
